What's your LinkedIn Visibility Score?

I'm Russ. A lot of experienced people are quiet on LinkedIn, not because they have nothing to say, but because nobody told them where to start. This is guidance from your answers, not a promise of leads or followers.

Six questions. Two minutes. One nextstep. No email needed to see it.

Kindness is cool, smiles are free.

How it works

No program. No 40 tabs. One move at a time.

1

Take the score

Six quick questions about where you are with LinkedIn today. Starting from zero or a thousand, it works.

2

See your one gap

Not ten things. The one that matters most right now, plus three moves for it.

3

Do one move a week

Nextstep Notes lands every Thursday with one trend and one 15 minute move. Do it, then do the next.

Try this today. 15 minutes.

Leave five real comments.

Find five people you'd love to know better and leave a thoughtful comment on a recent post of theirs. Add one idea or one question, not just Great post.

Done looks like five comments that each add something, and a reply to anyone who answers.

That's what a nextstep feels like. The quiz finds yours.

Who's behind this

I'm Russ. I write Nextstep Notes every Thursday, and I read every reply.

30 years in corporations and 15 years as an entrepreneur and content creator.

LinkedIn is where a lot of my 600+ livestream guests first said hello. Comments turned into conversations, and conversations turned into friends. For many of them it was their first time on a livestream, and I have taught a lot of people to go live on LinkedIn themselves.

This site is one small piece of a bigger mission: help more people help more people. One craft, one move at a time.

Fair questions

Is it free?

Yes. The quiz, your result, and Nextstep Notes are all free.

Do I have to give you my email to see my score?

No. Your result shows up on the page. Getting it in your inbox is your call.

I haven't posted in years. Is this for me?

Yes. Start with your profile and five comments. You don't need to post on day one.

Will this get me leads or a job?

I won't promise leads, jobs, or income. I'll help you see where your profile is and pick one useful move.

Trust

Playing it straight

Trust is earned one message at a time. Here's how we keep it, and how you can too.

Rules people follow

  • Follow LinkedIn's User Agreement and Professional Community Policies.
  • Only message people who asked.
  • An unsubscribe link in every email, honored right away.
  • Honest claims and safe, clear links. No hidden redirects.

What we do

  • Opt in only. No unsolicited emails, texts, or DMs.
  • Every message says it's from Russ Johns and Nextstepnext, and leaving takes one click or one word.
  • Real numbers only, like 600+ livestream interviews. No promised results.
  • We never buy, sell, or share lists.

LinkedIn the right way

  • A connection isn't a yes. Ask before you add anyone to an email list.
  • No tools that send connection requests or DMs in bulk.
  • No pitch in the first message. Start a real conversation.
  • An honest profile: real titles, real work, real recommendations.
